Our History
Our Franciscan mission to serve those in need came from the Hospital Sisters who founded our pantry in the garage of HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in 1979 — initially offering the hospital's spare food to 10-15 families each week.
From those humble beginnings, today we serve more than 150 families each week and distribute nearly 1 million pounds of food annually.
With the hospitals now closed, our mission and commitment to this community continues — stronger now than ever.
